I have never seen a Duck Race Event before....the local yokels said "Go For It" so here it is...
This will be the 1st ever Durham Ducks Day Out Event !!!
The event will be held at
Allensford Park, Consett,
on Saturday 25th June,
from 1pm - 5pm (having our picnic about 3pm)
The park has a river, lots of open grassed space, a childrens play area, a small shop and toilets......newbies, oldbies, kids and dogs are all welcome.
We will be having a DUCK RACE!!!
putting the ducks in the water at the park and letting them float about half a mile down the river, before some willing VOLUNTEERS fish them all out.
It will be £1.50 per duck to enter the race, the profits from the race will be going to...........read the logs below!!
I hope to sell 150 ducks.
The ducks will be numbered 1-150 on their bums, and will be sold on a first come first served basis.
If you would like to buy a duck or two please let me know on your attendance log, if you would like to take part in the race but cannot make the event let me know and I can sort something out with you.
I have also heard through the local jungle drums that we could have horse racing too, very different horse racing!!!, it should be a great laugh!!
There will be some small prizes for the races but this event is more about the taking part.
I will also chuck in a quiz.
As usual we will do a picnic.
If each team could bring an item to put on the table for all to share we would appreciate it.
If you have any special dietary needs please feel free to bring along your own picnic.
Please remember to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
The idea of this event is to just chill out and have a chat and something to eat and drink, and maybe swap a few geocaching tales and TBs, and of course join in with the duck and horse races they should be a good laugh!!
