Geocache Description:

San Clemente, CA, North Beach parking lot. Great place to be for sunset. Afterwards you can take a walk on the Beach Walk to the San Clemente Pier. (1.1 miles each way)

So it's pirate treasure your after. Aaarg. One Eyed Willy says that the "X" marking the spot is right over the treasure. Mad Dog used to guard the booty until it was "Posted" "No Dogs Allowed......". Remember to be inconspicuous, we don't want any Land Lubbers to find the treasure.
This is a real treasure chest with booty for exchange in it. If your on the fence about looking for pirate treasure you are absolutely on target.
