Golden Sands will take you to the most beautiful view at the south end of LBI (Holgate). Sunsets recommended. When you reach your destination you will be at the National Wildlife Refuge System. Also, don't miss incredible ocean views for enjoyment.
This is a year round cache. Parking lot available with no cost. Enter through the gates and begin your adventure. Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge extends for 50 miles along the southern coast of NJ. This small area is a refuge for many species of birds. Holgate is important for beach nesting birds including Piping plovers, Least terns, and Black Skimmers. This is a bird lovers paradise. Fishermen are welcome to use Holgate Beach. Phenomenal photography opportunities. Surfers are often seen riding the waves. This overlook has a view of Atlantic City off in the distance.
