Geocache Description:

Eastleigh station is part of the main South Western Line between London Waterloo and Weymouth. Nice flat route to the cache. Please make sure you have a pen with you and be very muggle aware.

Eastleigh station was originally called Bishopstoke when it was opened in 1839. It was renamed Bishopstoke Junction in 1852, Eastleigh and Bishopstoke in 1889, and finally Eastleigh Station in 1923. It is also a clinkers throw from the famous and renowned Eastleigh Works that built and maintained some of the finest steam engines in the country. Then after the war, carriages were built here right up until 2006 when the whole operation closed.
Now though there has been a real renaissance here and over 100 people now work in these classic buildings that Eastleigh is rightly proud of.
