Enjoy the walk through the Preserve and up to the great view at the gazebo, about 0.8 miles one way with an elevation gain of about 600 feet. The cache is a short way off the trail. Hemlock trees cover may cause an erratic signal.
Parking area is at N43 28.303 W073 37.547. Twelve caches are in this preserve now, so plan on spending some time exploring the area.
The property is owned and managed by the Lake George Land Conservancy. Formerly called Pilot Knob Ridge Preserve, it was renamed The Lynn LaMontagne Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob in August, 2010 for the LGLC's past executive director, who was instrumental in its preservation. More information and a trail map are on the LGLC web site.
CONGRATULATIONS to Scubakings and Joe B 46er for the co-FTF !
