Geocache Description:

You are looking for a round lock-lock container that is large enough for Travelbugs and Geocoins. This should be a very easy find for all cachers, although the local vegetation may make a pair of gloves and long sleeves a good idea during the warmer months!

The most obvious access route does involve a couple of steps up a steepish bank and you need to walk about 20m by the side of a VERY busy main road, so keep a firm grip on any children or dogs that you have with you.

There has almost certainly been a mill close to this location since the middle of the 6th century, serving the early Saxon settlements of Sutone (now Sutton-in-the-Elms) which dates back to 550 AD and the Danish neighbours in Torp c.875 AD (now Primethorpe). Of recent times these two villages have joined up with Broctone (which also dates to around 550 AD) and all three are generally perceived as the single large village of Broughton Astley.

The current mill was built in 1803 and was transformed into a pub/restaurant/hotel comparatively recently. There is an extensive outdoor seating area and ample parking at the pub itself, and it is a very popular venue with families during the summer, so you may need to employ a bit of stealth when signing the log.

I have deliberately placed this cache in a relatively accessible spot to make it a practical 'cache & dash' for anyone in the area, but would ask that cachers try not to disturb the location too much or it may become an easy find for muggles. If it does disappear, the replacement will end up in a nearby spot that will probably require a suit of armour to access during the summer months....
