Geocache Description:

This cache is a short ways off the road on the south side of the Pembina Valley. Crossing the ditch will be the most challenging part as the terrain can get very muddy during spring thaw. There are some raspberry and some wild rose bushes so thorns could be an issue later in the season!

The cache is located at Windygates, a known Hawk watching site. In the spring, THOUSANDS of raptors pass along just wanting to be recorded by the dedicated birders who volunteer their time every spring. "Big Days" such as April 6th 2011 are what every hawkwatcher hopes for. 3390 individual raptors of 11 different species (including 120 Bald Eagle, 3150 Red-tailed Hawks) were recorded on that day alone!!! The `Related Web Page` listed above links to the Hawkcount! website and contains the data for this and other hawk watching sites. So remember, Watch out for Birders!! Congrats to PilotMounders on the FTF!!
