Geocache Description:

Second of a series of 5 traditional caches around Nomansland and surrounding farmland, which can be done as a circular walk.

Malcolm Saville, prolific children's adventure writer lived close by at West End Farm 1942-1949. There is a plaque nearby on a gate.

The five traditional caches make up a circular walk of about 3 miles which can be done in the following order:
1. Nomansland
2. Malcolm Savilles’s puzzle
3. Stumpy
4. What a muddle
5. A ship in the hedge?
The walk is made of pleasant lanes (be careful of mad drivers), farm tracks, arable fields, woodland and common land. Some parts can be muddy after rain. Not really suitable for pushchairs.
With kind permission of St Albans City and District Council
