Geocache Description:

Perth’s Round Garden, “A Garden for the Blind”, is a unique treasure featuring plants in raised beds with special scents, textures and tastes to appeal to a variety of senses. There’s a fountain, benches with shaded gazebos, and plant names in Braille.

This “hands-on” garden was conceived by Joseph Albert Rawson (1911-1994), and a dedicated group of volunteers built and maintained it from its opening in 1983 to 2008, when its care passed to The County of Lanark. Located on the property of the Lanark Administration Building, the garden is off the new Tay River Pathway accessible trail.

If you happen to come for the cache “off season”, be sure to plan a return visit to enjoy this beautiful oasis in full bloom!

Please note, the cache is NOT in the gardens themselves - please do not cross the chains or step into the dirt. While the cache is winter-accessible, the trail is not maintained in winter, so use at your own risk. Also, the trail and garden are wheelchair friendly, but the cache itself isn't. Cache has been placed with permission of Lanark County. Enjoy!

CONGRATULATIONS TO TJOHNSON2B FOR FIRST TO FIND, AND TO MS MUFFET FOR 2TF!
