In the fall of 2010 we hosted a Geocaching 101-style seminiar for
parents with children in my wife's class. I was very pleased with
the turnout and response of the parents.
I was especially pleased and proud of the enthusiasm the geocaching
community brought to the sessions. So many geocachers took time out
of their busy weekend schedules to volunteer their time to help
teach others how to geocache.
Since Hammel Woods does not have a large cluster of geocaches for
this type of teaching opportunity, I scattered a few temporary
caches around Hammel Woods just for the seminar. However, this
particular site held my attention. I really liked the placement of
this cache and decided I will try to make it permanent after the
spring thaw.
I place this geocache to once again thank all those who helped with
the geocaching lessons.
This cache was placed with permission from the Forest Preserve
District of Will County.
1. This Geocache is placed on Will County Forest Preserve property
with permission until March 31 (of the following year).
2. Preserve users are only permitted to search for caches during
normal preserve hours: 8 a.m.-sunset.
3. All Forest Preserve rules apply; call 815-727-8700 for more
information.
