Powers Creek Downhill Mountain Bike Trail
This is one the Powers Creek
Mountain Bike Trails established by the MTBCO. Along this trail you
will find many man-made and naturally-made mountain biking
structures. If you see a mountain biker coming down the trail,
please yield to them as they have built and maintained this trail
and we are just visiting and checking out their efforts. Please
note: The cache logs say, "Powers Creek BMX Trail", this was a
mistake as this is a downhill mountain biking trail, not a BMX
trail.
There will be two separate
Geocaching trails that start at different locations near Crystal
Mountain and then merge into one just before it reaches the end of
the trail. For now, there is only one starting point due to the
amount of snow still present at the second location. We recommend
parking along the road beside the trail head at N 49 52.773 W 119
41.959. From there you can start exploring the intricate biking
structures as you travel down the trail, picking up caches along
the way (about every 180M). When we placed these caches there was
still about 12" of snow at the start so boots would be good if you
don't like wet feet.. After about the 5th cache the snow was
gone.
This Section of the trail is
called "Builders Only", why I'm not sure, it just is. If you choose
to walk on the structures just beware that some of them move and
others have large gaps that would require a bike to cross. This
series is a fun, fairly quick hike down the hill. It is
highly recommended that you either bring two vehicles or have
someone drop you off at the top as you will not want to hike back
up to grab your vehicle. Just park one car at the bottom and use
the other to get to the top. Once your down the hill, just drive
back up to get your vehicle.

this section of the trail, we suggest you write your comments on
this cache page for the caches in this part of the series and just
posting a quick log on the other pages. Of course you can always
write us nice comments for each cache page if you want to, it's
totally up to you.
All
of the other cache pages in this series will have limited
information and will refer you back to this cache page. There will
be no hints besides the one on this page as most of the caches are
hidden with the same technique.
