this area has been calling to me since january and now with the snow gone it was time. well marked with weathered trail map at the trail head. be careful with young children or pets at the scenic overlook - one trip or wrong step and you could be wishing they had on a parachute. thought i saw "Blaze Orange" waving to me from the other mountain top but couldn't have been he's gone now!
Nice 1+ hour hike that should have you stopping a couple times for your breath. Lots of rocks on the trail and leaves that could be slippery if wet. Do not forget your camera like i did! On my way back out from setting the final I nearly stepped on a porcupine. fortunately he didn't spook for me to know what quills might have felt like ( yes i was that close!) but just moved enough to catch my attentions so i moved a couple feet further away and just told him how nice it was to meet him up here and how cool looking he was and how mad i was that i had forgotten my camera or i would've posted his picture.
Stick to the trail the whole way up and back its well marked. there is actually a campfire spot near the top but can't imagine it sees too much traffic as it would be a tough hike up and down after dark- not undoable just tough.
started with a misplaced tb so would like to see it get picked up and moooved soon!
