The cache is a micro with only a log, and is hidden near the gates to Gosford Castle, please replace carefully and exactly as found.
The castle is hidden, almost lost in the forest, it is the largest listed building in Northern Ireland, construction of it began in 1819 and finished in the late 1850's, commissioned by Archibald Acheson, second Earl of Gosford and was handed down from father to son over the generations, the fourth Earl of Gosford was forced to sell it in 1921 to pay off racing debts, during the second world war it was used by the British army, then the Americans, and a prisoner of war was set up in the grounds, in 1978 it was converted into a luxury hotel, restaurant and night club but closed again after a few years, it is now being made into 23 luxury residences, the first are already occupied. You cannot drive in from the gates but can walk to the area around the castle and view from a distance. There is room to park at the cache site but please dont park in front of the gates.
