This Cache is the 2nd of 7 and can be combined with the caches below to make a circular route around this part of the Golden Cap Estate. See: Golden Cap 1: Welcome to Golden Cap (GC2RVDY) for full details about parking and the route.
The estate is made up of a number of long hills, covered in gorse and trees, with small fields of mainly permanent pasture and herb-rich meadows, grazed by cattle and sheep and linked by ancient hedgerows. These hedgerows are maintained every year with the help of volunteers. Hedgerows are brilliant habitats for a variety of different species ranging from small birds to the elusive Dormouse.
This Geocache combines with the caches below to make a circular route around part of the estate. The complete route is a walk of a little over 2.5 miles (4.5km), which takes you down to St Gabriels before a steady climb brings you round the back of Golden Cap to return via the wood.
The Cache is in a small screw-top container which contains only the log book, please bring a pen.
