Warwick Historic Cemetery #60, located behind the Stop and Shop on Route 2. Cache is NOT in the stone wall or under any gravestones. Please be respectful!
I've enjoyed several of the local historic cemetery caches, and thought I would add my own. I never noticed this cemetery until recently (trying to avoid some traffic and cars parked in the fire lane at the market).
The cemetery is actually two separate lots; both are fairly well maintained. Information obtained online describes the site as "The Remington-Arnold Lot." Both families are of historic significance in Warwick.
The cemetery contains 37 burials from 1766 to 1897. Online sources also call the Cowesett Road/Route 2 intersection "Waterman's Corner," which I had never heard before reading up on this location.
