This cache is located in the Maunu Cemetery at the Tree of Memories. Parking is available in the cemetery, but please ensure you park in the designated parking areas, not on the grave plots. The ground in the area is all flat so no problems with having to take a stroller if needed.
Please be respectful if there is a ceremony going on nearby.
The "tree of memories" memorial, which was erected in 2004, is covered in leaves bearing the names and birthdates of about 65 stillborn babies, many believed to have been buried beneath a row of camellia trees in the cemetery. The memorial is near the row of camellias bordering the babies' burial plot.
The council has details of 75 babies buried anonymously in Maunu Park Cemetery, but believed there were many more "quietly laid to rest" without recognition in the early years.
