Geocache Description:

This cache is one in a series that will highlight different areas of the little known community called Lloyd and it's historic district.

This cache is on the right away outside the property of the old Laffitte house and other historic homes. It is in the LLOYD HISTORIC DISTRICT c. 1840-1920. 24 buildings, 20 of historical interest. Frame Vernacular, some with Classical elements. Buildings in Lloyd were built in 2 and possibly 3 periods. c. 1855-1859 and 1870-1890. Some evidence suggests buildings were on the site as early as 1840.
