Geocache Description:

Series of caches highlighting the different paths that US Route 50 has taken over the years.

US Route 50 runs from Ocean City, MD to Sacramento, CA, over 3000 miles. This series focuses on the portion between Parkersburg and Clarksburg, WV. Locally known as Route 50, George Washington Highway, Northwest Turnpike, Cooridor D- this section is now entirely four-lane highway. There are still several segments of older highway that can be seen and travelled. In some areas, more than one older alignment may be found. This particular cache takes you to a location near where old and new meet. You will see old and new guardrail, old and new highways, and the connector roads to link the two.

Cache is magnetic, hidden in a normal location. Easy parking. Cache contains log and pencil.
