Team Kanagawa spring festival 2011

It is a very long-shaped park. Full length 1,200m!

This park made by fill up a canal. It is a very slim shape. The total extension is 1,200m, the widthis 30m, the area is 3.6ha. It continues from JR Kannai Station to Yokohama municipal subway Bandobashi Station.
There are four areas called "Open space of the stone", "Open space of the water", "Sunk garden", "Green forest" in the park.
This park is a citizen's oasis and is a disaster prevention site.

I installed cache in the edge of the "Green forest" area.
There is the peaceful prayer monument of "the Yokohama blitzkrieg" of May 29, 1945. The inside of the peaceful prayer monument is shown every year May 29th to mourn for the victim of the blitzkrieg.

The cache is small Tupperware.
I installed it very boldly. Probably I think that the people turn to the bottom at this place. But attention is necessary enough when you take it out and install it again, because pedestrian traffic is many places.

旧吉田川(運河)を埋め立てて造れた公園です。総延長1200m、平均幅30m、面積は3.6haです。JR関内駅から横浜市営地下鉄阪東橋駅まで続いています。1978年9月9日に開園しました。
都心部緑地整備事業の一環として作られたもので、大通り公園の建設により、山下公園、日本大通り、横浜公園、くすのき広場、大通り公園、蒔田公園へと続く「緑の軸線」が作られました。
公園は東から順に「石の広場」、「水の広場」、「サンク・ガーデン」、「みどりの森」の4つの部分から構成されています。

市民の憩いの場のみならず、防災用地としてもきわめて重要な場所となっています。
是非、端から端まで散歩してみて下さい。

キャッシュは一番西側の「みどりの森」の端に設置しました。

「みどりの森」は伊勢佐木長者町駅周辺のかつて千秋橋という運河にかかる橋のあったところから、阪東橋駅までに至る部分です。阪東橋駅は京浜急行線黄金町駅からほど近く、近くには大岡川が流れ、「川の町横浜」の雰囲気を伝えています。
1992年、1945年5月29日の「横浜大空襲」の平和祈念碑が横浜戦災遺族会により建立されました。毎年5月29日、大空襲の犠牲者を悼む平和祈念碑の内部が公開されます。御影石には約千人の犠牲者の氏名が刻まれています。
