Geocache Description:

The Golosievsky Forest is situated between the National Exhibition Center and the boroughs of Pirogovo, Korchevate and Mishelovka (literally: mousetrap :). In the very center of the forest there is a hidden Christian worshiping site known as "Sergieva Pustyn" (meant to be the Monastery of St.Sergiy, though it is not a monastery yet). The forest is well maintained, many trails are crisscrossing it and one could generally pass through it with no much effort.

You have to have a sharp sight and pay attention to the surroundings to notice the place of the "Monastery" as it is easy to pass it by without noticing.

The Sergieva Pustyn exists for about 4 years. It was built by an ex-priest who grew disappointed with the modern policies of the Orthodox Christian church, believing that the Church itself is not necessary to communicate with God. Thereby he had build this place. This is essentially an open-air shrine built around the tall tree, with some altar and improvised rostrum. The surroundings are kept well clean and nice. The priest used to inhabit the self-dug cave nearby until it recently collapsed but he sill keeps the icons there and prays.

The cache is hidden about the entrance portal (N50°22.091' : E30°29.638') to the Pustyn at exactly 50 meters southwest from it. An additional direction is set by the burned tree to the left of the trail to the entrance. You have to count 33 footsteps to the south. Both directions should intersect at the two trees 1 meter from each other. The cache is between them.
Initial contents of the cache includes two feline statuettes of steel and porcelain, pencils, local coins, logbook.
