This Cache is the 5th of 7 and can be combined with the caches below to make a circular route around this part of the Golden Cap Estate. See: Golden Cap 1: Welcome to Golden Cap (GC2RVDY) for full details about parking and the route.
This cache is related to the old coach road that ran through the village from London through to Exeter. In its heyday, Saint Gabriel’s was a bustling little village with the road going straight through the middle of it, straight past the chapel. The population increased so much during one year that they had to make the chapel bigger! You can see this if you stand in the chapel and look at the back walls.
This Geocache combines with the caches below to make a circular route around part of the estate. The complete route is a walk of a little over 2.5 miles (4.5km), which takes you down to St Gabriels before a steady climb brings you round the back of Golden Cap to return via the wood.
This cache is a Bison style canister with the log book only, please bring a pen.
