Geocache Description:

Located in a small parcel of the North Branch Tributary Park in the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield. You can park right next to the trail leading into the woods. Depending on which side of the woods you park on, you may have to walk across the dam. Be careful!

I spent many days in my youth playing with my childhood friends in these woods. We would come home at suppertime COVERED in mud, leaches, and torn clothes but our parents barely seemed to mind. We were kids being kids. This is how we learned about our world and learned to respect our environment.

This section of woods we dubbed "The Dam" for obvious reasons. While there is information available about an old dam in the south brook tributary stream, I couldn't find anything on this one. Rumor has it that this at one time was a mill pond... If anyone knows anything about it please share!

The cache is a small camo lock & lock. Original contents included log, pencil, a few swag items for trade, and Rowdy Refuse travel bug. Watch out for THORNS!
