This is the 4th of my 'I remember' mini series. For this one, from our caching trip to SE Asia in 2010 ...I remember being in the Philippine jungle on a remote island called Boracay. The only access is by banca (boat).
While we were treking through the jungle, I couldn't help but think about WW II war movies with this same scenario...you probably know what I mean...soldiers stealthily moving through the jungle growth and all of a sudden, a soldier lets out a horrifying cry, as he is caught by a booby-trap. I thought the idea would make a good cache, nothing dangerous or anything like that...just a fairly common type of hide, with a different twist... Please, DO NOT try to take the camo/container out of its position! It is attached. This is now a PMD cache, in keeping with the cache name. As in jungle warfare....use caution! Telling you what PMD is, would be giving away a military secret! Stealth should always be used when caching, as well as keeping your eyes open for sharp branches, booby-traps, and of course, land-mines...we've all come across those! This is as close to a Philippine jungle that I could find around here, so almost no bush-wacking. Please use stealth at cache location...many walkers, joggers and students use these trails. Cache is just off the east minor trail. Near-by parking. Also, park is closed dusk till dawn. Please bring your own writing utensil. Look down, keeping a lookout for a possible trap.......but don't forget to look up as well! Good luck and good hunting...but don't become the hunted! Note: Absolutely no harm was done to the environment in the placing of this cache....and none should be done in finding this or any other cache. Please try to keep spoilers to a minimum.
