Former site of a Wolf Sculpture on a Rock Edge
A wolf sculpture appeared mysteriously on Windgate Nick in January 2011. Sadly it is no longer there. I suppose it was never going to last. The pictures on this site show it in its full glory.
The wolf was a superb addition to the landscape of Ilkley Moor and became a popular destination for walkers, runners and families. Viewed from a distance, it formed a striking and surprisingly large silhouette against the sky.
The cache site can be approached from all angles including along the main track from Ilkley which runs along the edge of the Moor or from below from Addingham Moorside. The cache is located about 15-20 metres to the south of the rock ledge where the wolf used to stand. It is along a little track along a ledge which passes round a corner.
PLEASE TAKE CARE!! - There are steep drops in this area.
Have fun!! It is a great place to visit even though the wolf has gone now.
