WHEN: Saturday, August 6th. Raindate-August 7th.
TIME: 9AM until ?
WHERE: West end of Paradox Lake (Severance, NY) at 27 Knox Rd. .
WHO: All geocachers old and new.
WHAT: A day of kayaking, geocaching and a picnic with other geocachers. You don't have to kayak, just come for the socialization.
WHY: I thought it would be nice to have geocachers get together for a picnic in the Adirondacks.
* Bring your kayaks or canoe if you have one. I have 5 kayaks, 2 canoes and 2 rowboats for use if you don't have one. Also bring your life jackets if you have them. I have a limited amount for use. I will be putting out temporary geocaches that will be both water accessible or walkable for the day. I will also put out a few new loggable water caches up the lake. If you wish to launch near the loggable caches you may do so at the NYS campground for a small fee.
I have found out that you can rent kayaks from Bob (Mountain Air Adventures) in Schroon Lake for $25 a day or $20 for 4 hours. His number is (518) 791-6186.
Here is a list of who is coming and what they are bringing so far. If anyone doesn't like hot dogs and wishes to bring their own meat, I will have the gas grill going as well as the campfire.

* A campfire will be burning all afternoon if someone wants to make s'mores.
* WiFi is available if you need to download. There are other caches in the area that I have put out if you like to hike and you haven't done them.
Knox Rd. is approximately 1 mile east of Exit 28 of the Northway. Follow Rt. 74 towards Ticonderoga. Go across the Schroon River. After a straight stretch you'll curve to the right. River Rd. will be on your left. Knox Road will be the next left. It's a dirt road with a yellow private sign. We are the 4th house on the left. Please park facing in on the lawn at both 27 and 29 Knox Rd. DO NOT park on the road.
SO, WHAT TO BRING:
* Your kayak or canoe if you have one. (You can launch at the kayak dock on the property).
* A dish or drinks to share- please post what you'll be bringing.
* Lifevests
* Fishing poles if you wish. Paradox has excellent pan fishing off our dock and good bass fishing in the lake.
