Allen Cachers: We stopped by to check on our cache while out doing some Spring cache maintenance on this beautiful morning. We found the remains of the stump, but the cache was no where to be found, despite kicking up leaves all around. We talked about it, and with the stump being gone, we have decided not to replace the cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Potter Park in Lansing, MI (an Ingham County Park). The park currently opens one half hour before sunrise for pedestrian access and 8:00am for vehicle access. The park closes one half hour after sunset. Please respect the park hours.

The park entrance is on Pennsylvania Ave. There may be a vehicle fee to enter the park if the booth is staffed. The park can be accessed for free by bike or on foot using the River Trail system.

This park is also home to the Potter Park Zoo. However, you do NOT have to enter the zoo to find the cache.

Alex wanted to hide this cache near one of his favorite spots in Lansing - he loves the zoo! Alex especially loves penguins. The Potter Park Zoo has Magellanic Penguins.

We encourage you to stop by and visit the animals while you are there if the zoo is open. The zoo is open year round. Its hours from April 1 to October 1 are 9am to 6pm.

The cache is a small snap-lock container hidden in a typical way. Although it is not hidden in a high traffic area, please use stealth when retrieving the cache.
