Geocache Description:

Cemetery overlooking Lake Monroe just outside boundaries of North Fork State Wildlife Refuge.

Cache is in small cemetery overlooking the Salt Creek North Fork tributary of Lake Monroe. The cemetery is just outside the boundaries of the North Fork State Wildlife Refuge in a very scenic area. Be aware that as I was looking for a spot to place the cache I found a snake curled up in a hole in a tree just outside the cemetery fence. You'll see the tree and the hole if you look straight ahead after parking your car parallel to the cemetery fence. I've put some pictures up of the snake hoping someone might identify the species.

Note that the northern approach to the cemetery may be impassable when water levels are high as McGowan Rd is prone to flooding. In that case use the route that passes by the TC Steele State Memorial ... unless of course it is winter and snow levels are high. In that case the final route to the cemetery may be blocked as the road from the east is not plowed.

Cache is an oversized prescription bottle containing a few modest trade items. The Sacagawea gold dollar for the first to find was claimed by Jmebd (congrats!). Also thanks to Monstercatambush for the ID on the Black Snake. Echoing roadandthesky ... we're going to be much more careful investigating blind holes now that one of them had a big snake in it!
