Geocache Description:

This is a cache that was created to be part of the Gauteng Power Series (GPS). The Gauteng Power Series (GPS) was created to offer Cachers the opportunity to achieve personal caching goals by using Grand Personal Selection (GPS) to decide how to hunt and find these caches, all in one day, or one by one over a period of time. Remember to Go Physically Safely (GPS) when you Grope, Peek and Search (GPS)

Rooihuiskraal is one of the many suburbs of Centurion. There are schools, housing complexes, churches and many businesses here today.

Brief history: The battle for Rooihuiskraal took place in 1881 at the place where the existing historical terrain is situated. A commando under the leadership of DJ Erasmus Jnr. defeated Col Gildea, the Officer Commanding of the Pretoria Garrison.

Eight years later Alois Hugo Nelmapius bought the northern and north-eastern portions of the farm Doorkloof and named it after his daughter Irene, who died 1961.

The cache is a magnetised Nanno.
