A quick park and grab along Route 7 in Pownal Vermont. Please use caution when turning into the rest stop coming from the south.
A little history about the route so many people take daily. In the early 1900's the road your currently driving on used to be the tracks for an Electric Trolley that traveled from Bennington,VT to Great Barrington, MA.
In 1939, long after the trolley stop transporting people, the "Berkshire Hill" trolley car became a diner in Pittsfield MA, which was in business until 1994 when it was damaged by a fire.
The trolley car is currently being restored at a Trolley Car Musuem in Kennebunkport, ME
If you travel to Maine....stop in an see the history of the car that transported our towns people long ago....as a bonus three other caches are hidden at the musuem.
