Geocache Description:

The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Congerstone, in the Parish of Market Bosworth.

The Church is a Grade II listed building and is thought to date back to 1179, although it is unlikely that any of the original construction exists today. The oldest parts still in place are the low tower, and parts of the nave.
There is a chimney on the roof, which was built to serve a fire in the box pew of the Howe family, who were responsible for and financed two major restoration projects on the Church.

The cache is a camouflaged round container. You do not need to enter the Church grounds to locate it.

Update Apr 2021

All renovations are now complete, and the Church is open - in a Covid-secure manner - on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
