Geocache Description:

Park at 50 Bloomington Rd West. Trail access is behind a large white plastic structure.

I'm not clear on the history of this area but I have been told that 50 Bloomington Road West was built in 1915 as a school for boys run by Monks. The building at one time was called Pine Ridge Centre, largely because of the large pines planted at the front of the building along Yonge St. The trail known as the "Monk's Walk" runs along the ridge at the back of the parking lot. If you look closely at some of the Beech Trees along the trail (the ones that look like elephant legs) you will notice that they have carvings of religious symbols and names or initials of some of the Monks that used to walk this trail.
