Geocache Description:

Fuzzy and I were out on a beautiful day picking up caches in the area. Suddenly we rounded a bend and saw some horrible monster peering at us from between the scrub pines. What was that huge, horrible creature? Could that beast have been some weird science experiment gone wrong? Perhaps a renegade rodent from sofiecat’s, “OH rats,” cache had escaped and been thriving in the woods of Wharton? We didn’t stay long enough to find out!

Later we made our way back by the vicinity and didn’t see the huge Railroad Ave Terror! We parked and cautiously got out to investigate a bit. As we neared the location we had spotted him at, we noticed something odd. In order to remember this nightmarish experience we waypoint the place so we would never, ever have to come back here again. Of course a waypoint means a cache and an opportunity for you to come out and check it out for yourself.

The cache is an ammo box hidden in a typical way. Please note the roads back here are sandy and there may be big puddles to deal with. I was able to make it back with no 4WD using the “cat arounds!” Hmmm, wonder why they didn’t keep the rodents under control?
