small cache hidden in a local park
AHHH, ROWLEY PARK SPEEDWAY
THE PLACE WHERE THE CHAMPIONS GATHERED
Not far from the listed co-ords is a small plaque to commemorate that Adelaide once had a speedway very close to town. this plaque is located about 50 feet ABOVE where the start/finish line was located on the main straight.
I remember going to this place on friday nights,as FRIDAY NIGHT WAS SPEEDWAY NIGHT !!!
When I was in my teens and 20's I loved to come here to watch the racing and my favourite place was to stand next to the wire fence on the back straight and listen to those thundering V8 powered sprint cars flying past you sideways and flinging up mud up at you. That is something I will NEVER forget.
Speedway never seemed to be the same when it was moved out to Virginia, as, at this location, the noise/dust was becoming a problem.
The cache contains the usual FLIPPER&CO items.
BUT, for the first correct answers on the next questions, there will be a selection of Mrs. Flippers trinkets.
Question 1, where was the speedway located BEFORE moving to ROWLEY PARK???
