Geocache Description:

Small round lock and lock near the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario.

Trains have been a passion of mine since early childhood. I grew up close to tracks either behind the house or just down the street when steam still reigned. This is why this location just cried out for a cache. The railroad actually ran through here and the station served the community before VIA took over passenger service. The track is long gone, but the station, locomotives, rolling stock and memorabilia now survive thanks to the dedicated work of a tireless band of volunteers. The cache is not located within the museum enclosure, so it is accessible 24/7. The museum is open to the public May 14 to Labour Day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, and on other special occasions.
