Geocache Description:

The geocache is named after the nearby medieval castle... long gone and now just earthworks.

This is the most westerly point on the England-Wales border; the border at this point is the small river, called Nant Rhuddwr. It is also the most westerly point in Shropshire.

Distance from the sea (to the W): 35 miles. Distance from Offa's Dyke (to the E): 6 miles.

The civil parish is Bettws-y-Crwyn; the ancient parish church is 3 miles to the ESE. The county town, Shrewsbury, is 32 miles by road.

The hamlet of Anchor is about 1.5 miles to the NE: close to the hamlet is the source of the River Clun; the hamlet is also where the B4368 becomes the highest classified road in Shropshire.
