My original try at a cache in the Mouth of the Snohomish River was
placed in an unfortunate spot. One of my favorite hides,
unbeknownst to me the cache was in a place that required the cacher
to park on private property in a place where illicit activity is
common. Aside from the fact that there were no posted no parking,
no trespassing or private property signs, I decided to remove the
cache rather than fight it.
This time the hide is on public land and hopefully in a spot that
will not upset the local Railroad authorities. If you found the
original Mouth of the Snohomish you will remember the cache and how
it was attached. This hide is reminiscent of that hide only bigger
and attached differently. The view to the North is of the Snohomish
River mouth, to the west you can see Jetty Island and Puget Sound.
This is a great spot for bird watching. I startled an immature Bald
Eagle from a tree over head as I walked around looking for a spot
to place this cache.
There is parking across the street in beautiful Legion Park where
awesome views can be found as well. Because you will be required to
cross a busy street if you park there, I do not recommend this hunt
for small children.
