Lahellholmen #14 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Lahellholmen

Gode turmuligheter med flott utsikt over Drammensfjorden.

On Lahell Island, or Brøholtholmen as it also called, lived in the Bronze Age a really swell. On top of the island there is located Røykens only burial mound from the Bronze Age.
The islet has magnificent cliffs and rocks, and some forest. Good hiking with great views of the Drammen Fjord. Drammen municipality Lahell bought the island in 1948, and transferred it to Røyken municipality in the 1990s. In the last few centuries, there was a beach and a lounge on the island. Population census from 1900 shows that there lived an elderly couple and a young boy on the island. Silver Treasure from the farm Brøholt on the mainland, was buried around 1060, and is considered one of the most important coin finds in this country ..
