Geocache Description:

This is a multi-stage cache but I'm am unable to change the discription at this time. Beautiful park, great place to spend some time exploring or to have a picnic. Lot of history and information on signs t/o park.Today there are still remnants of foundations and large support pillars which can be seen along the trails at the northern section of the island. These structures give a realistic indication of the size of the industrial complex that existed from 1882.

From Fairfield Maine St. turn onto the # bridges, once over the first bridge turn left, follow to the end of Island Street and go through the two pillars and park your vehicle. The Park is right in front of you, the trail starts on the left and continues around the end of the island then back to the parking lot. Take your time GPS signals tend to bounce all over the place here. I wouldn't wear sandals or the stumpage would brutel on your feet. Caution poison Ivy may be present.
