Haape's Purple Taniwha (Wellington) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheCur8or: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This wee cache was placed on another really significant date for me and at the other end of significant part of the coolest place around - Taputeranga Marine Reserve.

So why a Purple Taniwha ?

NOTE: Coastal Regenoration Project in this area - so tread carefully and stick to Paths - CAUTION: Steep Quarry cliffs nearby - Be carefull!!

There are heaps of wee tracks (like the Haape track, stream and damm) that link to this area, along the ridgelines - with every corner showing you another perfect view (unless you decide to do this during a southerly storm!!)

Park at the Owhiro Bay quarry/beach car park the GZ coords is only a short walk from there.

Or if your car is semi 4wd you can take a drive all the way to Devils Gate (except Sundays) or more serious 4wd can go much further... As there are several caches on the way.

Check out some of the other fabulous South Coast Caches - Happy Caching. TFTC FELIX!
