Geocache Description:

Capital only of 68 days

Cache is on a slightly elevated mountain in Yamanashi Prefecture Nirasaki City.
In this mountain, there was a big castle that had been constructed as lord's new capital 400 years or more ago.
However, the lord has thrown away this castle before it is for one year.

The castle in this mountain is called a Shinpu Castle.
(Shinpu is a meaning of "new capital".)

The Takeda family who was the lord of Kai (Yamanashi) built the Tsutsujigasaki Palace (visit link)
in Kofu in the age of Takeda Nobutora (father of Takeda Shingen) at Warring States Period.
Here was a center of Kai.

The Takeda family temporarily had Shinano (Nagano), west area of the Kozuke (Gunma) and Suruga (east part of Shizuoka), and a big territory country.
The limit had come out to expand the town in Kofu while the territory country of the Takeda family was enhancing it.
It is thought that the move of the capital was planned for that.

Nirasaki is located at the center of the territory country of the Takeda family.
The town surrounding was defended in the mountain and the river, and it became each transportation hub.
The Shinpu Castle took charge of building by Sanada Masayuki in 1581 and was constructed.
It was rapidly constructed, and it seems to have completed it in only eight months.

However, Oda/Tokugawa Allied Forces had already invaded Kai immediately after the castle was completed.
The large enemy force was not able to be faced in the castle of just completion, and this castle was burnt by the fire, and the Takeda family retreated and fluttered.
Afterwards, the Takeda family has been ruined.

It remains only in the name of a place now there was a capital.
Surroundings in the castle are very quiet places where a lot of peach flowers bloom.
The mark in the castle remains, and, here and there of the mountain, the Shinto shrine has been built in the top now.

Cache is a plastics container of 550ml.

キャッシュは山梨県韮崎市の小高い山の上にあります。
この山には、400年以上前に領主の新しい都として建設された大城郭がありました。
しかし、1年もしないうちに領主はこの城を捨ててしまいました。

この山にあった城は、新府城といいます。

戦国時代に甲斐（山梨）の領主である武田家は、武田信虎（武田信玄の父）の時代に甲府に躑躅ヶ崎館 (visit link)
を築き、ここが甲斐の中心でした。
武田家は、一時は信濃（長野）、上野（群馬）西部、駿河（静岡東部）と大きな領国を持っていました。
武田家の領国の拡張する中で、甲府の街の拡大に限界が出てきていました。
そのために都の移転も計画されていたと考えられています。

韮崎は甲府盆地においては北偏りでありますが、武田領国の中枢に位置しています。
また、街の周辺も川などで守られていて、各交通の中心にもなっていました。

新府城は、天正9年（1581年）に家臣の真田昌幸が普請担当して建設されました。
急ピッチで建設されて、僅か８ヶ月で完成したそうです。
しかし城が完成した直後に、既に織田、徳川連合軍が甲斐まで侵攻してきていました。
完成したばかりの城で敵の大軍を迎える事が出来ず、この城は火で焼かれて武田家は退却しまいました。
その後、武田家は滅亡してしまいました。

今は都があったことは地名でしか残っていません。
城の周囲は、桃の花が沢山咲く大変静かな場所です。
今も山のあちこちに城の跡が残っていて、頂上には神社が建っています。

キャッシュは、550mlのプラスチック容器です。
