The Corop Cemetery was established in 1871 and is still being
used. It is also home to several varieties of native wildflowers,
so a visit in spring would be lovely. It is located approximately 5
kilometres west of Corop in a bushland setting. The Corop Cemetery
Trust was formed in 1999 and has encouraged renewed interest in
both local and former residents in becoming more aware of their
local history. Regular working bees are held to help maintain the
cemetery grounds. It is the intention of the trust that the Corop
Cemetery will always remain a "bush" cemetery, not a manicured
reserve.
It is not necessary to enter the Cemetery to find the cache, but
it is worth the walk if you have the time. This is a very quiet
spot, and muggle free for the most part. You are looking for a 1
litre Sistema, hidden in the usual way. Cache contains a log book
and pencil, some small swaps and a scratchie for the First to Find.
We hope you enjoy your visit, and our first cache. :)
