Introducing IthacaDoodle Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache invites you to get out and get your feet sandy at Sunset Beach State Park, one of California's wonderful parks where geocaching is permitted.

Cache is not at the posted coordinates, which is at the intersection of Beach and San Andreas Roads - either direction will allow you to reach the solved coordinates. Going straight on Beach allows access from Palm Beach (free parking on the road or paid parking at the lot) while turning right on San Andreas allows closer paid access from Sunset Beach. Solve the puzzle below for decimal digits only for the large lock-n-lock to be found at N 36° 52.XXX W 121° 49.XXX

We wanted to use this opportunity to introduce ourselves to the local geocaching community. Originally from the SF Bay Area, we now live in Ithaca, NY (home of Cornell University) but are enjoying a sabbatical year nearby. We enjoy caching in the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay area and (itha)CAdoodle is the California variant of our caching name in which we pretend that we live here instead of in upstate NY. You may recognize us or our name from local cache logs ... from an event or two ... or perhaps from the photo of us at a favorite cache - GC17MX1 Bridges & Arches of Central Park as featured in Groundspeak's brochure:

Photobucket

This brochure explains geocaching and describes in simple language how to do things such as use your GPS device to help you find the hidden geocache, click “Hide & Seek a Cache,” click “Hide & Seek a Cache,” enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS device, enter a postal code or address and click “Search”, choose any geocache from the list and click on its name, etc. It should be useful too for recruiting new members to our game, explaining geocaching both to friends and to muggles who find you on the search, and is available in nine languages.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Please access the cache only via the clearly marked trail.
