Johannes Trithemius (1 February 1462 – 13 December 1516), born Johann Heidenberg, was an abbot, lexicographer, historian, cryptographer, polymath and occultist who had an influence on later occultism. The name by which he is more commonly known is derived from his native town of Trittenheim.

The major works of Trithemius include Steganographia written circa 1499, Polygraphiae, a cryptographic work and De Septum Secundeis, a history of the World based on astrology, both of which were published in 1508.

Steganographia (written c.1499; published Frankfurt, 1606, placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum in 1609, removed in 1900). This book is in three volumes, and appears to be about magic - specifically, about using spirits to communicate over long distances. Since the publication of the decryption key to the first two volumes in 1606, they have been known to be actually concerned with cryptography and steganography. Until recently, the third volume was widely still believed to be about magic, but the "magical" formulae have now been shown to be cover texts for yet more cryptography content. The work has lent its name to the modern field of steganography.

Polygraphiae Libri Sex - The first printed book on cryptology, the title translates to “Six Books on Polygraphy”. It was published in 1518 after Trithemius’s death.

Among his pupils were Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa (1486–1535), Magnus Hanso, (???? - ????) and Paracelsus (1493–1541).

Students of Johannes wrote many great works and incantations. What is now believed as the last penned words of Magnus Hanso are currently being authenticated by the Hanso Foundation. The first few stanzas follow...

Even the most opposed to Visions can’t argue that this Earth is winding down.  day Runs into the night, i Yearn for all who believe.   Follow your heart know we Indeed care that we are Fighting the good fight.  here Thousands will follow you on  Higher ground .  don’t  let the Warped smoke doom the planet.  Once it surfaces on earth Run! it’s not time to Die it’s time to live…

While we may or may not share the complete incantation created by Magnus Hanso, we are able to share several other recent discoveries.  It is believed that there is a LOST station that has yet to be discovered.  While the written words of Magnus may hold the key, below is a map that will lead you to the actual alter where Johannes Trithemius spoke the black smoke into existence.  This alter also holds the secret to the newest station.  The exact location has been excluded from the image, however it may be possible to locate the alter and unlock its information.

While standing at the alter facing the engraved book, you can see Johannes' love for the occult as well as magic secrets spring to life.  When the words in the book on the alter are read aloud, you should see pillars rise from the ground directly in front of you.   The image below was taken with a high speed camera and ran through several filters.  Finally after literally minutes of processing time we were able to find hidden images on what is now to be assumed magic cubes.

Dharma Phase II participants will be able to locate the new station given the following formula:

N 47  45.[C-A][A][A+C]    W 122  03.[B/A][B-C][C]

TIGIM SGSQB GTFUW CQDAE YJBQF DLJUW IIIVW ANTZN HTIRF WCNNB JZTJX HPDCL AC

As a gift to the first to discover this LOST station, there is a treasure waiting.  The memento is the Alchemist's Magnus Opus Geocoin.  Alchemy was another of Johannes passions and the alter that you seek no doubt is a philosopher's stone.

FTF: Congratulations to faurenlink andverygeeky for a job well done!
While we knew we had the best and the brightest in our study, we had no idea that this station would be discovered so quickly.  Bravo!
