Geocache Description:

A short multi among some incredible rocks. The first part of the multi is a micro which has the rest of the coords to the final, which is a small tupperware box. The micro is in a tidal area, please check tide times before going out, the cache should be reachable 2 hours either side of high water.

The cache is all about Sea Snails which you will find here in abundance. A bit of research will help in finding the micro...

Most sea snails feed by grazing on algae which grows on the rock (or other surfaces) where they live.
They scrape up films of algae with a radula, a ribbon-like tongue with rows of teeth.
They move by rippling the muscles of their foot in a wave-like motion.
Some species of sea snail return to the same spot on the rock known as a "home scar" just before the tide recedes. In such species, the shape of their shell often grows to precisely match the contours of the rock surrounding the scar. This behaviour presumably allows them to form a better seal to the rock and may help protect from either predation or desiccation.

To achieve this the sea snails will not settle above the high tide line, on cracks on the rock, and they will not come off by unscrewing, that will not work, no, not at all.

It is still unclear how sea snails find their way back to the same spot each time, but it is thought that they follow pheromones in the mucus left as they move. They are one of the few invertebrates to exhibit territoriality and will aggressively push other organisms out of this patch by ramming with their shell, thereby allowing their patch of algae to grow for their own grazing.
