Bambi04: Aan alle goede dingen komt een einde. Zo ook aan deze cache. Het museum gaat sluiten en dus moet de cache weg. Eén troost: we hebben inmiddels contact met de directie van het nieuwe Nationaal Defensiemuseum en wellicht gaat de cache inde toekomst daar (her)plaatst worden!

F-16 (deze cache word in overleg met de museumdirektie vanaf maandag 15 april gearchiveerd)

De F-16 is een eenmotorige multifunctionele straaljager die sinds 1979 veel gebruikt wordt. In onder andere Nederland en België was het de opvolger van de F-104 Starfighter. In Nederland werd tevens de F-5 door de F-16 vervangen. Het toestel is ontworpen door General Dynamics. De fabriek van General Dynamics is overgenomen door Lockheed Martin. Hoewel de F-16 officieel is gedoopt als de "Fighting Falcon", wordt er door piloten en grondpersoneel ook wel gesproken over de "Viper" (Adder) naar de gevechtsjagers in de sciencefictionserie Battlestar Galactica, die in de jaren 80 op televisie te zien was. De Nederlandse uitvoering is de F-16A/B MLU (Mid Life Update). Dit is de oorspronkelijke versie uit 1979, die door upgrades naar een hogere standaard werd gebracht waardoor tevens de inzetbaarheid enige jaren langer gegarandeerd werd.



Zoals veel andere jongens van 6 jaar oud, droomt Bambi04 ervan om (straaljager)piloot te worden. Helikopterpiloot mag trouwens ook, of eh….. ach, als het maar met vliegen te maken heeft. We zijn dan ook regelmatig te vinden in het Militaire Luchtvaart Museum, waar je meer te weten komt over de militaire luchtvaart van Nederland en het fenomeen vliegen. De vliegtuigen, helikopters, objecten en historisch materiaal tonen samen het historisch erfgoed van de militaire luchtvaart van het Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger, de Marineluchtvaartdienst en bovenal de Koninklijke Luchtmacht. Er zijn veel activiteiten bij het museum, waaronder een aantal (kinder)speurtochten. Een cache ontbrak er echter. In overleg met de directie van het Militaire Luchtvaartmuseum is hier een (kinder)cache geplaatst, die ook leuk is voor de ‘oudere jongeren’. De toegang tot het museum is gratis. Voor openingstijden raden wij u aan om de site van het museum te raadplegen. (Richtlijn: di – vrij: 10.00 – 16.30 uur; zo: 12.00 – 16.30 uur. Gesloten op alle maandagen en zaterdagen. Kijk voor feestdagen op de site. Honden zijn niet toegestaan.) Parkeren kan op: N 52°06.763' – E 005°17.894', maar gewoon de bordjes “P” volgen is ook een optie.

De cache loopt niet volgens een vaste route, maar bij een normaal museumbezoek kom je overal langs. Op het terrein zijn de antwoorden zowel binnen, als buiten te vinden. De stash ligt op:
N 52°AB.CDE' – E 005°FG.HJK'.


A= Loop naar het coördinaat: N 52°06.731' – E 005°17.800'. Hier staat een jachtbommenwerper. Neem het tweede cijfer van de diameter van de kanonnen, zoals op het informatiebord bij dit vliegtuig staat.

B= Zoek in de Ir. Vreeburghal, in de sectie marineluchtvaartdienst, naar de Dornier DO 24-K1. Neem het aantal bemanningsleden.

C= Zoek in de Ir. Vreeburghal, in de sectie lesvliegtuigen, naar De Havilland DH-82A Tiger Moth. Neem het eerste cijfer van de spanwijdte lengte.

D= Zoek in de Ir. Vreeburghal, in de sectie jachtvliegtuigen, naar de Lockheed F104G Starfighter. Neem het tweede cijfer van het registratienummer.

E= Zoek in de Ir. Vreeburghal, in de sectie helikopters naar de Bölkow 105 CB-4+. Neem het eerste cijfer van het registratienummer.

F= Ga naar de Gen. Snijderhal en zoek naar een Koolhoven FK51. Neem het eerste cijfer van het aantal vervaardigde exemplaren van dit toestel.

G= Zoek in de Gen. Snijderhal naar een North American B25J Mitchell. Neem het eerste cijfer van de plafondhoogte van dit toestel.

H= Loop naar het coördinaat: N 52°06.706' – E 005°17.726'. Hier staat een North American F-86K Sabre. Neem het eerste cijfer van de max. snelheid, zoals op het informatiebord staat.

J= Loop naar het coördinaat: N 52°06.686' – E 005°17.805'. Hier staat een Convair F102A. Neem het tweede cijfer van de lengte van dit toestel , zoals op het informatiebord staat.

K= Loop naar het coördinaat: N 52°06.639' – E 005°17.715'. Hier staat een Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21PFM. Neem het tweede cijfer van de dag waarop de restauratie van dit toestel gereed was.



The F-16 is a multifunctional single-engine jet often used since 1979. In countries including the Netherlands and Belgium it was the successor of the F-104 Starfighter. In the Netherlands, also the F-5 was replaced by the F-16. The aircraft was designed by General Dynamics. The plant of General Dynamics was acquired by Lockheed Martin. Although the F-16 has been officially christened as the "Fighting Falcon", by pilots and ground crew it is also referred to as the "Viper" (Viper) like the jet fighters in the science fiction series Battlestar Galactica, which was shown on television in the year 1980. The Dutch version ot the aircraft is the F-16A / B MLU (Mid Life Update). This is the original 1979 version, which by upgrades was brought to a higher standard thereby increasing its employability some years longer.
Like many other boys of 6 years old, Bambi04 dreams of becoming (fighter) pilot. Helicopter Pilot may as well, or eh ... .. Ah, if only it has to do with flying. Therefore we regularly visit the Military Aviation Museum, where you can learn about military aviation in the Netherlands and the phenomenon of flying. The planes, helicopters, objects and historical materials displayed along the historic heritage of military aircraft of the Royal Dutch East Indies Army, Navy Aviation and above the Royal Air Force. There are many activities at the museum, including a number of (children's) treasure hunts. A cache was missing, however. In consultation with the management of the Military Aviation Museum a (child) cache has been placed, which is also nice for the 'older people'. Access to the museum is free. For opening hours we recommend you to the site of the museum to consult. (Directive: Tue - Fri: 10.00 - 16.30, Sun: 12.00 - 16.30 hours. Closed on all Mondays and Saturdays. Look for holidays on the site. Dogs are not allowed.) Parking is at: N 52 ° 06,763 '- E 005 ° 17.894', just the signs "P" is also an option to follow.
