Geocache Description:

On their first hike of the 2009-2010 Scouting year, the Cubs for
the 27th Nepean B Pack placed a cache off the trails of Beryl
Gaffney Park. This time, the Beavers have joined us for a
geocaching night which include placing a cache in one of the many
parks in the Barrhaven community.

We placed this cache as part of our Pack’s own specialty cache: a geocaching badge. Let see if you know all the requirements for earning this badge:

GEOCACHING BADGE
Do any 6 of the following 10 requirements.

1. Tell what geocaching is
2. Show how to use a GPS receiver, and explain how it works in simple terms.
3. Explain how satellites work
4. Show longitudes and latitudes on a map or on a globe
5. Find 3 traditional geocaches
6. Find 1 multi
7. Create a geocache (not necessarily one that will be placed out)
8. Name three things to consider when creating and placing a new cache.
9. Tell what a muggle is and some of the dangers of muggles
10. Tell what to do with a travel bug or geocoin and follow for three months.

Before being published, the cache was originally located a very short distance from one of the trails at Stonebridge on the Jock. It has been relocated to its present location. The cache is a medium-size plastic jar and contains an assortment of object collected by the Cubs and the Beavers.
