GEOLOGISCHER AUFSCHLUSS NR. 1
Buntsandsteins. In NW-SO-Richtung durchziehen so genannte
besteht.
Pflichtaufgabe: Welche Farbe haben die dolomitischen Lagen? Die
Antwort darauf sendest du an Viernau.Geo@googlemail.com und darfst
sofort loggen!
deinem Log!
GEOLOGICAL DISSOTIATION NO. 1
Between Schmalkalden and the Werratal you will mostly find
surface rocks of the so called lower and middle bunter. The NW-SE
direction of the south west thüringian forest foreland is nerved by
fault zones. The contemplator is standing in the zone of the so
called “Viernauer Störungszone”.
This fault zone resulted of tectonic procedures 50 millions of
years ago. You will find newer and older zones of stone side by
side. The normal horizontal bedding is disordered.
You see rocks of crumbled slate. Mostly platy, shortened Stones,
which have partial, dolomite layers and are pitched about 15
– 20 degrees in south-west direction. The package of layers
shows „Zechstein“, this means in the area of the
dissotiation older stones have moved upwards. You will see about
three feet run-of-hill scree under the forest soil on top of the
truncated layers which mostly consists of sandstone-chunks.
Compulsory task: Answer the following question: What kind of
color do the dolomitic layers have? The answer must be send to
Viernau.Geo@googlemail.com. You can log without wating for an
answer. If there are problems with your answer I'll contact you per
Mail.
Optional Task: Please make a photo of you in front of the
dissotiation and post it in your log!
