This is a Multi-stage cache consisting of three locations. The first location will give you the coordinates for the second location. The second location will give you the coordinates for the final location in which there will be a cache container that is large enough to hold travel bugs and other tradeable items The first two cache locations have tags that hold the coordinates to the other locations.
This Multi-stage cache will take you into the newer east side of Hayes Arboretum that has recently been opened to hiking and mountain biking. (www.hayesarboretum.org). In order to access the east side you will find a new parking lot on Hayes Arboretum road. From there you can access all three waypointe locations.The east side of the Arboretum is very interesting in that it contains two Indian mounds in which some of the artifacts that have been excavated from them can been seen in the Nature Center.Enjoy your hike. By the time you find all three waypointe locations you will have hiked about 1.5 miles. round trip. Please be sure and replace the cache containers where you found them. Also, please stay on the trails to find the cache. No extensive bushwhacking will be required for the cache sites are located just off the marked trails or roads ABOUT THE ARBORETUM There are 466 acres located in Richmond, Indiana that the Arboretum makes available to the public. There are unique plant collections, rock and fossil collections and miles of hiking and running paths. Other features found on this property include 3% of Indiana old growth forest, many acres of reforested Woods, an 1833 dairy barn that acts as the Nature Center, the Museum, Adena and Hopewell Indian mounds, ponds, fields, and wetlands. HOURS TO ACCESS THE CACHE March through October: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. November through February, Open only for special events and scheduled programs. LOCATION The entrance to the Arboretum is located at 801 Elks Road, Richmond, Indiana. The Arboretum is easily reached via I-70. Take Exit 156A west on U.S. 40 approximately 2 miles. Turn north on Elks Road. Go 1/2 mile to main entrance. Hayes Arboretum is only 45 minutes from Dayton, Ohio, one hour from Indianapolis, Indiana, and approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from Cincinnati, Ohio.
