April is Dogwood season here. Pink and white dot the landscape. Easy cache at McIntyre Park.
April is Dogwood season in Charlottesville. Just as spring is arriving, the Dogwoods burst into bloom, wakening the dreary winter landscape with explosions of white and pink flowers, even before the green leaves emerge.
McIntyre Park is home base for the annual Dogwood festival, which includes a carnival in the park, and a parade, among other things. It's fitting, as the park (especially this area as you drive in) is dotted with many lovely trees. Come visit a lovely grove close to the parking area, and grab this cache.
