I've been driving past this little monument many a time and has
always wondered what it was all about. A few years ago, very early
on a Saturday morning a bunch of cyclists was traveling right about
here when a drunk driver slammed into them. This incident caused
quite an upset in the Pretoria cycling community. I wonder if the
designers of this little monument had this in mind when it was
errected here... (the monument itself is actually a tribute to the
32 Nations competing in the 2010 World Cup Soccer). Maybe they did,
maybe they didn't, but it doesn't really matter, it still is good
to have this nice little monument as a tribute to all that was
killed and are being killed on our roads....
This cache was created on the eve of the start of yet another
Eastern Weekend where thousands of South Africans lose there lives.
May all that find this cache can quieten down for a second paying
tribute to them...
The cache itself is a 35mm film container and it should be a quick
roadside pickup. Please be carefull when crossing the road to the
monument, it usually is quite busy.
